Navigating your music

Customizing your view of the score.

NotePad’s basic navigation features allow you to bring any region of the score into focus using zoom functions.

By the end of this lesson, you will know how to:

1. Zoom to adjust the size of your score on the screen
2. Change the visual score region and switch pages

Zooming

You can change the size of your music on the screen using the View menu.

Choose View > Zoom To 400%, 200%, etc., depending on the desired percentage.

Changing the visible score region and switching pages

The scroll bars and the page view buttons are two effective ways to navigate to a specific portion of music.

To change the visible score region and navigate pages

• Click and drag the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the document window, or the vertical scroll bar on the right side of the document window, to adjust the position of the page on your screen.
• The arrow buttons in the lower left corner of your screen allow you to navigate between pages. You can also type in the page number and press ENTER to change pages.
