Mid-score Instruments

Adding mid-score instrument changes (from, for example, Flute to Oboe) is not a feature of SongWriter. If you open a file that was created in Finale that includes mid-score instrument changes, you can view them and remove them in the ScoreManager. Click the expand arrow to the left of the original Instrument Name (the one that starts on measure 1). Mid-score instrument changes appear below the Expressions row.

Mid-score instrument changes can be viewed by clicking the expand arrow to the left of the Instrument Name.

To remove mid-score instrument changes

1. Note the original instrument of the staff containing the mid-score instrument change.
2. Choose Window > ScoreManager.
3. Click the expand arrow to the left of the Instrument Name of the original instrument (the one beginning on measure 1).
4. Click the "X" icon to the right to delete it the desired Instrument change.
