Harmonic
analysis
Chord symbols can be used to create analytical
roman numerals and inversions.
To create
harmonic analysis
- Click
the Chord tool . The Chord menu appears, and two small triangles
appear at the left edge of the screen. These control the baseline of the
chords (against which the bottom edges of the symbols line up).
- Drag
the left arrow to the vertical position you would like to place the figured
bass symbols.
- From the
Chord menu, choose Roman Chord Style.
- Enter
chords using Type Into Score as you would normally. See To enter chords (Type
Into Score). After typing a chord symbol, you can use one of PrintMusic’s
figured bass chord suffixes to specify the inversion.
- After
typing the root, type “:0” (colon and then zero) and press Enter. The
Chord
Suffix Selection dialog box appears where you can select the desired
suffix.
