MIDI/Audio/Device Setup submenu

Use these options to configure MIDI and VST devices.

Audio Setup. Choose this command to display the Audio Setup dialog box, where you can set up options for audio recordings and audio output devices.
Rescan for VST Plug-ins. Choose this command to rescan your plug-in directories for any new plug-ins (for example, if a plug-in was added to the directory after Finale was last launched).
Manage VST Plug-in Directories. Choose this command to open the Manage VST Plug-in Directories dialog box where you can manage VST plug-in directories on your computer.
MIDI Setup. Choose this command to display the MIDI Setup dialog box, where you can affect a number of settings concerning your MIDI interface setup.
MIDI Thru. Choose this command to display the MIDI Thru dialog box, where you can specify whether MIDI thru is used and how it works. When a check appears next to the command, MIDI thru is in use. Use MIDI thru if you prefer to use one keyboard as a controller and another device as the sound source.
Tablature MIDI Channels. Choose this command to display the Tablature MIDI Channels dialog box, where you can select a channel for each string of a MIDI guitar.
Edit Percussion MIDI Maps. Choose this command to open the Percussion MIDI Map Editor dialog box, where you can assign your own MIDI notes to percussion instruments for both input and playback. See Percussion MIDI Maps.
Percussion Input Maps. Choose this command to open the Percussion Input Maps dialog box, where you can choose a percussion MIDI mapA Percussion MIDI Map is simply a list that matches each percussion instrument in a sound library with a particular MIDI note number (e.g. bass drum = 36, snare drum = 38, etc.). These maps are required to properly assign the same percussion notation to various playback devices, and are also used to accommodate the many different percussion sound banks that can be used for input with an external MIDI device. for the percussion sound of the external MIDI device you are using for input. Do this to prepare for MIDI input, so that the sounds performed on your external MIDI device match the instruments interpreted by Finale. See Percussion MIDI Maps.
Send MIDI Sync. This command determines whether Finale sends MIDI Sync signals when it plays back your score. When the command is checked, Finale sends MIDI Sync signals. If you have connected your computer to an external sequencer, drum machine, or another computer that has been configured to interpret this type of MIDI message, it will wait in "pause" mode until Finale begins play back, at which time the two will play in perfect synchronization.
Send MTC. Check this option to broadcast MIDI Time Code in order to synchronize Finale with another MTC-compatible device. See SMPTE and MIDI Time Code.
