Zoom in/zoom out

To zoom in and out

  • Press COMMAND++ and COMMAND+-(minus) at any time to zoom in and out. There is no need to select the Zoom tool.

Or,

  • Press COMMAND+SHIFT and click the score to zoom in or COMMAND+OPTION+SHIFT and click to zoom out. There is no need to select the Zoom tool.

Or,

  1. Choose the Zoom tool .
  2. Click the music. Finale enlarges the spot you clicked. To zoom out, press OPTION and click.

    Finale ‘stops’ at the following view percentages when zooming in and out: 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000.

To enlarge a selected area

This technique works only in Page View.

  1. Choose the Zoom tool .
  2. Drag across the music, creating a dotted-line rectangle. When you release the mouse, Finale enlarges the enclosed portion of the display, just enough to fill your monitor.

To zoom in or out by a percentage

  1. Choose View > Zoom.
  2. Choose a preset percentage, or set any percentage from 10 to 1000 by choosing Other from the submenu (or pressing COMMAND+0).
