To hide measures

A region of measures or partial measures can be hidden, eliminating the staff line, barlines, and music. This method can be used to create cutaway scores or a space before a coda system.

  1. Click the Staff Tool image\Staff_Tool.gif, and select the measure region you would like to hide. See Selecting Music.
  2. From the Staff menu, choose Apply Staff Style To > Score and Parts (or Current Part/Score). The Apply Staff Style dialog box appears.
  3. Choose Force Hide Staff (Cutaway) and click OK. The Staff Style is applied, hiding the selected region. To show the region, delete the Staff Style. See To clear staff styles from a measure region.

To hide staves, including removing staves from systems, see Hiding Staves.
