To break ties in a region at time or key signature changes

1. Click the Selection Tool   and select a region of music. See Selecting music for more details on how to do this.
2. From the Utilities menu, choose Change, then Ties.  
3. Choose On from the Break for Time or Key Signature popup menu. Finale will always break ties in the region at a time or key signature change, regardless of the Tie options global setting. To never break at key or time signatures Choose Off.
4. Click OK to save your changes. Click Cancel to dismiss the dialog box without making any changes.
