To erase chords from a region
Click the Selection Tool
and select a region.

Choose Clear Selected Items from the Edit menu.
The Clear Selected Items dialog box appears.
Click the None button to uncheck all, then check "Chords and Fretboards."
Click OK (or press
return
) .
Finale erases the chord symbols.
